We had a flight today, and another two weeks ago I forgot to write about. Just briefly covering that one, I had my friend (who specializes in foam board) come along, we were chased off from the site we wanted to go to, so we went to the parking lot with tall grass, and flew and crashed a lot of planes. The Model C crashed into a lamppost, which is really good aim. The debris were scattered all over the place.
I can't tell from the footage whether it crashed head-first or wing-first, but the motor was completely damaged on the inside. The magnets were snapped.
And as for today's flight, it was basically the same situation, except we did not get chased off.
Our Model C changed colors from brown to blue and silver, and it was known as the Baby Shark for the day.
Well apparently Baby Shark does not stand well against crashes or heat, because the front fuselage got busted (as always) and then the plane melted.
Yes. Melted.
The plastic became as soft as leather, and now this is definitely not reusable. Except now that the wing has solidified, it's left a beautiful anhedral wing. So the lesson is: never leave a 3D printed plane in the sun.
And as for the others, the Model T crashed but the wing survived, the Model V2 flew but crashed on landing due to high winds, the Joker had the foldable props keep flying off, and then crash after we switched the propeller, and the F22 had the cover stripped off by the propeller, and then the motor holder flew off.
